Meet the Chef

My name is Sara Yelizarova. I immigrated to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union around 20 years ago, and have been cooking for over 35 years. I learned how to cook initially by helping my mom in the kitchen, but over time found my own style. The region where I grew up was home to a diverse set of cultures, and with that came a variety of delicious cuisines originating from Russia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. Simple Tasty Eating was created so I could share my experience and provide tips on how to use affordable ingredients to create simple and tasty food at home!
