45 min prep time, makes 30 candies

Have you ever wanted to make Homemade Chocolate Candy that will melt in your mouth? It is surprisingly easy to make your own chocolate all while avoiding artificial ingredients. When you make it at home, you know exactly what goes into it and can add your favorite healthy treats. We recommend using nuts, dried fruits, or berries to add a variety of flavors and textures to the chocolates as you and your guests bite into them. It’s the perfect dessert after dinner when you want to finish off the evening right.

Ingredients

  • 18 oz chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 10 pieces dried apricots
  • 10 dates

Instructions

  1. Add 10 oz of chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and place in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time, stirring in between until everything is melted. Brush the inside of the molds with the melted chocolate. Once all molds have been brushed, place them in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.

  2. Warm up the heavy cream in the microwave until it is hot. Pour the heavy cream into a separate bowl over 8 oz of chocolate and stir until it melts. Cool the mixture until it is 90°F/32°C.
  3. Remove the molds from the freezer and pour the chocolate and heavy cream mixture into them to fill them half way. Add a dried apricot or walnut into each mold followed up by pouring more chocolate mixture on top of the apricot or walnut to cover them up. Do not overflow the molds beyond the edges.
