Burek is a savory pastry that has roots in Ottoman cuisine and is often made with a spinach and feta cheese filling. Very similar to spanakopita from Greece, the filling is commonly wrapped in a flaky and buttery phyllo dough and topped with sesame seeds. Vegetarian friendly and delicious, burek makes for the perfect party appetizer, or alternatively can be served as a light dinner.
