Ladybug Tomato appetizers

prep time 20 minutes , serves 4 people

Ladybug tomato appetizers are the great idea for children parties and entertainment. They are simple to make and taste great.


  • 4 cherry tomatoes
  • 4 olives
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • handful of parsley
  • black food color gel
  • 8  baguette slices
  • green onion or chives


  1. In the oven, broil the baguette slices for a couple minutes – optional. Arrange on a large plate or platter
  2. Mix cream cheese with sour cream. Remove 2 tablespoons to a small bowl and tint black with food color . Place tinted cream cheese mixture in a small plastic bag; set aside.
  3. Spread cream cheese over baguette slices.

4.Place parsley leaves over the cream cheese spread.

5. Slice cherry tomatoes in half. Then slice each half about three-fourths of the way through.

6.Lay each half tomato on a slice of bread and spread to look like a ladybug’s wings. Pipe cream cheese mixture on top of tomatoes as the dots for ladybug

7.Place a black olive slice on the uncut end of each tomato to form the head. The rounded ends of the olives work best. Place 2 thinly cut green onion strip into olive holes
